Rhett Butler is a fictional character from Margaret Mitchell's classic book "Gone With The Wind." In the film, which received 13 Oscar nominations and winning in eight categories, Rhett Butler is played by screen legend Clark Gable. Released in 1939, Gone With The Wind made box office history and remains the highest grossing film of all time (adjusted for inflation). Gone With the Wind is considered a historical epic film on the War Between the States and Reconstruction.
