IN REFERENCE TO RECENT STATEMENTS FROM ECOLOGICAL INTERNET / GLEN BARRY
Glen Barry of Ecological Internet has made a number of misrepresentations since we refused his demand that we join his FSC campaign in late 2011 (mongabay does not join campaigns of any sort). Since then, Barry has attacked us -- Rhett and Jeremy personally, as well as Mongabay generally -- via hundreds of posts on social media.
One point Barry consistently makes is Mongabay has not reported on the controversy about the FSC or logging in primary forests. Below is a set of 20 articles so you can judge for yourself whether this is an accurate claim. Note there are many articles beyond these available via various feeds on the site like fsc, forestry, primary forests, logging, etc.
Please bear in mind that Mongabay is an environmental media outlet. We are not an advocacy organization as much as Barry has attempted to misrepresent us as one. We have built our reputation based on accurate reporting, not hyperbole. We do not cater to Ecological Internet's fundraising cycle.
