Stumpage : is the fee that individuals and firms are required topay to the government when they harvest Crown timber in British Columbia. Stumpage isdetermined through a complex appraisal of each stand or area of trees that will beharvested for a given timber mark. A stumpage rate ($ per m3) is determined and applied tothe volume of timber that is cut (m3). Invoices are then sent to individuals or firms.
